Welcome to this year’s Primrose Trophy Rally, one of the club’s oldest events, which was resurrected back in 2014.
This year sees a change in the organising team, with myself stepping forward to replace Mat Kiziuk as Clerk of the Course. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mat for all his hard work in this role of the past few years.
The route uses some of the classic lanes on maps 97, 98, 102 and 103. The Primrose Trophy will again use a plot & bash format. However, I would like to stress that the navigation is designed to be simple and easy to complete, so please do not be put off by this fact.
I would also like to make it clear that this is not a spectator event; those interested in seeing (and being part of) the action should contact the chief marshal and get involved that way.
This year, the club has chosen to support the North West Air Ambulance charity through the running of this event. £5 from every entry will be donated directly to the charity, with an opportunity to add to this amount on the entry form. There will also be a collection at signing-on; please give generously either way. I’m sure you’ll all agree that this is a cause worth giving to, and one that we all hope we will never have to use.
Another first for this year’s event is our inclusion in the AB Motorsport EMAMC Road Rally Championship. A warm welcome to all competitors, new and old!
I look forward to receiving your entries. See you on the night!
Matthew Broadbent – Clerk of the Course
